Adidas Basketball: Jalen Green “Kalis Collection”
Brief:
Create a collection of Adidas Basketball products to showcase Adidas athlete, Jalen Green.
I created a three shoe collection to display different levels of Jalen Green’s style as well as his Filipino Heritage. The pack of shoes is themed around the Filipino blade named the Kalis. The blade itself is wavy and is used mainly as a slashing tool in battle. In the same way, Jalen is known for his flashy and wavy fashion sense off the court. On the court he is known for the way he slashes through the defense and cuts to the basket with ease.
Adidas Rivalry Low:
The Rivalry represents the pregame style of Jalen Green. The colors of the shoe as well as the detailing along the stripes and tongue represent the Kalis sword before battle, with the blade hidden in it’s sheath.
Adidas Exhibit A:
The Exhibit A, is a performance shoe draped in bright, metallic silver details to represent the Kalis sword out of it’s sheath and ready for battle. The gold details represent the handle and guard of the sword.
Adidas T-Mac 3 Restomod:
Lastly, the T-Mac 3 Restomod acts as a celebratory shoe. Would Jalen win an award such as Rookie of the Year, the T-Mac 3 would be a special release to celebrate the occasion. The model ties back to the history of Jalen’s team, the Houston Rockets, as well as fellow Adidas athlete Tracy McGrady. Gold medallions celebrate his award and call back to his nickname, “The Unicorn.”
